"
Slow progress doesnt mean no progress at all "
Sometimes life gives us situations and circumstances we never planned to be in . Satyapal singh a 55 year old resident of bhopal , was a time keeper at an institution .He had a normal day at work on 8th February but when he came back from work , he suddenly got a back pain and this pain later on progressed to severe hand and leg pain along with back pain .He also had high blood pressure since past 3 days but he neglected it . He never thought this negligence would lead to such a devastating outcome .Two days later he and his family found out something which they never thought of even in their dreams . He was discovered with LEFT MCA infarct and due to which he developed right side hemiplegia , he wasn't at all able to move his right leg or hand and wasn't able to speak at all . The physical as well as psychological aspects of this stroke attack was debilitating for him and his family , he used to weep for longer periods of time , had severe voluntary impairments and lost his spinchter control . After discharging from hospital he came to our helpline , We at hum saath hai as more and more focused on family counseling and we did that in his case too . We counselled his wife and two of his sons what they can do at home to improve these problems caused by stroke . Slowly from being a bed ridden person to being on wheelchair and then further to walking with support . His family proved to be vital during these difficult times for him specially with the help of hum saath hai's efforts as we made them realise they are the true factors who can decide the speed of his recovery and decide on which aspects they need to focus more . After 6months of extensive physiotherapy by expert team of physiotherapist at GHMC , Bhopal he is able to get his sphincter control back , and now he is able to stand independently for 1 min and walk with support . His family proved to be vital during these difficult times for him specially with the help of hum saath hai's efforts as we made them realise they are the true factors who can decide the speed of his recovery and decide on which aspects they need to focus more . And as they say " In times of test , family is the best " . Hum saath hai is extremely happy for his progress and wishes him all the best . We also request all the families to take a active participation in their paralytic patient's recovery . We are highly thankful to Mr. Satyapal singh and his family that they allowed us to share this succes story
